Curiouser and curiouser.

Ruled out pulmonary embolisms — none of those.  That’s always nice.  Echo looked . . . okay.  As in, nothing there, on the face of it, that ought to be causing anything this dramatic.  TEE on Monday to confirm that.

Summary of conversation with cardiologist:

Dr: “Well, it looks like you’re fine then . . .”

US: “Not Fine!”

Dr.: “Stable, anyway . . .”

US: “Um, no, not exactly . . .”

Dr.: “Well, I don’t see anything that could be causing this . . .”

US: “So there’s nothing else that could be causing these symptoms?”

Dr.:”Well, nothing common.”

US: “Something rare?”

Dr.: “Oh, I’m sure.  Lots of rare things.”

So Monday we test his knowledge of rare things.

(BTW: I like this guy.  I asked for dogged, and he seemed willing to be that.)

      1. The Nine Annoying Things Novena has been an interesting exercise for me. I think I completed a full one just during Sunday’s Gospel reading alone (think ‘masculine gender obliteration’ and you’d understand why), but by and large, it’s helped me identify the little crap that annoys me day in day out, and gosh, it’s incredible the amount of stuff I let annoy me.

So if you’ve been feeling additional grace lately…you’re welcome.

But really, it’s me who needs to thank you for giving me pause, to learn to let stuff slide, and remember the truism “this too shall pass”. So, thank you.

Oh, and the chocolate chip cookies turned out great. But don’t take my word for it. Let me mail you a dozen…

        1. Larry, you’re not the first to have found that Novena helpful. I’m about to unroll a new one.

Don’t mail cookies. Or rather, not to me. I’m trying to avoid putting on weight with all this sitting still. So unless they’re really bad cookies . . . send them to Rebecca Frech. She could totally use a care package. Or some other worthy recipient. It could like one of those “in honor donations”. “You’ve received this box of cookies in honor of the decrepit blogger . . .”
